LaMonique Brand Is Aiming To Take Over The Beauty Industry

February 19, 2018

Monique Glover, a Bronx native New Yorker grew up mostly in Bronxdale Housing Projects now known as Sotomayer Houses. Her love for fashion and trendsetting items lead her to register as a product reviewer for multiple cosmetic companies and a sneaker tester for Nike. She was accustomed to receiving all sorts of cool items, but the cosmetics she tested always lacked what she had hoped for. In July of 2017, She branded her own cosmetics line LaMonique Cosmetics, which carries various cosmetic items and accessories. Her signature flavorful lipglosses are paraben and gluten free. The LaMonique brand also carries an organic makeup remover made of radish root. Just a short few months after her cosmetics launched, she had already began the process of creating an affordable line of luxury hair extensions. By December of 2017, A Pro-Style Hair Collection called MyLaMonique was created. Just recently, she branded her very own moisturizing sulfate-free shampoo which works well on natural tresses, color treated hair and of course her line of hair extensions. Her unique style and products has caused quite a buzz in the make-up world. The LaMonique Brand also sells a line of men's grooming products called, Just'in Time, which are owned by her nine year old son Tommy.

What inspired you to do what you do?

"Being a product reviewer and registered sneaker tester I became accustomed to receiving cool items but the a lot of the cosmetic items always seemed to lack something I desired so I decided to start my own cosmetics company and provide those items under my brand."

How did you start in this industry?

"I first started out by branding my own lipgloss which lead to other items such as magnetic lashes, organic make up remover and I always wanted to brand a special brush for baby hair edges. Yes I was tired of seeing women use regular toothbrushes on their hair. That ultimately lead to me branding my own luxury collection of hair extensions."

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

"Well now that my hair collection is available, I've just finished branding and working on a moisturizing shampoo which is good for natural tresses, color treated hair as well as hair extensions. I'm looking forward to see my brand continuously growing and in five years having a full line of cosmetics and hair care products.
