Real D Is On His Way To Being A Musical Powerhouse: Rapper, Producer, Actor & More

August 19, 2018

What inspired you to do what you do?

"My inspiration all came from New York, Cleveland and Los Angeles rappers. My major influences were the following: Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Snoop Dog, Biggie Smalls, KRS One, Bone Thugs, 2 Pac and Rakim to name a few. When my brother and I used to watch Rap City back in the 90's, we were always hyped up the Hip Hop culture gave us the confidence to be what we want to be. That being said, that's why I decided to become a lyrical producer just like Rza and Havoc. Also, my brother “Street Connect” who is a producer inspired me to keep going forward despite of rejections and negative people."

How did you start in this industry?

"It all started back when I was in college. I used to record songs with my good old friend Selwyn Belgrave a.k.a Slicc in my mom's basement. He used to mentor me on how to master the rap flow on major beats. When I turned 19, I was making beats with a cheap software ''Ejay". Then, my bother advised me to get a professional software for producers and music composers "Reason". Since that time, we never looked back. We have been using this software since the version 2.5. Now we are at Reason 8. We just never gave up on our natural talent. I have a special gift in recording, producing and making beats. Might as well go for my dreams and make my mission a reality."

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

"Five years from now, I see myself in the major music industry as a rapper, producer, actor, sound engineer, motivational speaker and entrepreneur. Also, a life teacher for the young and old generation."
